After someone has had a stroke they may need special care to be taken when you are helping them to move or reposition themselves. Our tailored training will work with you and the person you are caring for enable you to safely support them.
Being able to wash & dress ourselves is something that most of us take for granted, but for a stroke survivor, this may now be a complicated and frustrating process. Our RN trainers will assess needs and teach carers how to encourage independence and support re-ablement.
Difficulty swallowing (dysphagia) affects up to 50% of all stroke survivors 6 months after discharge home. Our training is tailored to each individual, ensuring that eating and drinking can be supported safely.
The Stroke Association suggests that 15% of stroke survivors, will have continence problems 1 year after their stroke. For those in that 15%, this can be an embarrassing and distressing condition, but with our training, we can demonstrate how best to support the individual, in a person centred way, that alleviates as much of the embarrassment and distress as possible.
